Let me begin by welcoming you to our website which is the hub of our business. We are diligently at work to provide you as much information up front so that you can evaluate if our product is right for you. At Tough Boats™, we engineer vessels built to outlast and outperform in the harshest conditions. Unlike traditional aluminum or fiberglass hulls that are prone to damage, our foam filled MDPE (polyethylene) planing hull modules are impervious to rocks, jagged shorelines, and structure impacts of all types, ensuring unparalleled durability.

Its the indestructible and unsinkable characteristics of our 24" and 36" diameter MDPE hull modules that is at the foundation for our 100% over spec'd marine grade aluminum chassis & deck which is completely assembled with expert welding and all 316 stainless steel hardware. This is the cornerstone of our brands' reliability and performance.

Pay for what you want and not what you don't!

We offer our boats as a "Base Boat" which is essentially a stripped down hull and deck assembly. You then add the building blocks (Options) you want and we build it to your specifications... as simple or complex as you like.

SAMPLE BUILD- Tiller
So for example lets say you need a TOUGH20 for hauling materials and its all about the economics. You can order a Base Boat and just add a transom mount and you can drop your motor on the back with a portable fuel tank and you are good to go.

SAMPLE BUILD- Center Console
take that same Base Boat add a console, steering kit and a fuel cell and again you are good to go.

SAMPLE BUILD- Nicely appointed
Select the boat of your choice add a Standard or Mini console, transom, Fuel Cell, Push bars, rails, engine and an engine guard and now you now have a fully functioning boat with a additional capabilities.

Jump over to the "MODELS" page and explore the lengths, beam and capacities. Some things to think about are do you want dual hull modules or triple hull modules for maximum load capacity. You also want to choose the beam (width). Our standard beam is 8.6' which is the legal DOT width for all trailers without restrictions. However, we offer all our boats in 10' and 12' width (special order) which adds significant space and stability to a boat. Note- the 10 and 12' boats can require a "OVERSIZED LOAD" permit in most states and introduces restrictions on trailering.

We typically use the 24" diameter for our standard duty workboats from 20' to 36'. For any heavy equipment or rough water applications we recommend the 36" diameter hull modules that typically doubles the weight capacity of the 24". Note- 36" are only available in 20', 30', 40' and 50' configurations and they sit significantly higher in the water making them ideal for heavier open water routines regardless of load.

While we offer the dual hull module boats because of their affordability, I urge all our clients to strongly consider the triple configuration. Building a Tough Boat™ can be a significant investment and they really are indestructible. I want you to have a work platform that can handle any job you throw at it and a triple hull insures you have a tool that can grow with you.

NOTE- Our large wide boats can accommodate additional rows of MDPE hull modules.

YOU CAN BUILD YOUR BOAT ANYWAY YOU WANT.

As simple or as intricate as your application requires. We have a long list of prefab options available and are constantly coming up with more tools designed for your boat.

SIMPLEST & CHEAPEST BUILD- (Tiller)
Lets say you need a TOUGH20 for hauling debris or moving materials and its all about the economics. You can order a Base Boat and just add a transom mount and you can drop your motor on the back with a battery and portable fuel tank... and you are good to go!

BASIC BUILD- Center Console
take that same Base Boat add a Mini or Standard console, steering kit and a fuel cell and again you are ready to get to work.

WORKBOAT BUILD- Nicely appointed
Select the boat of your choice add a Standard console, leaning post, t-top, transom, fuel cell, push bars, rear rails, engine and rigging and now you now have a fully functioning boat with additional capabilities.

We do offer custom fabrication services. We can quote and execute all types of projects. If your request is outside of our scope of capabilities we may refer you to a fabricator we work with.

You need one! No not really. You can rough it and go tiller but we do recommend one of our aluminum console designs which we build in house.

When you order console it comes complete with door(s), electrical system, lights and various accessories.

3-6 circuits, 2-USB-C outlets, 1 Cigarette outlet and momentary horn switch.

NOTE- It you want the console only please do specify when requesting a quote.

We fabricate 2 leaning post options that are deigned to fit perfectly behind our Standard and Standard Plus consoles

Leaning Post 1-
30" tall enclosure that features a large storage space w/ door and a smaller top loaded personal tray for small items like wallets, cell phones, keys, etc... Comes with a heavy duty vinyl cushion.

Leaning Post Fuel-
30" tall enclosure that features a 30 gal fuel cell. Comes with a heavy duty vinyl cushion.

Our fabrication department can customize any seating/storage requirements you may have. For simple seating requirements we offer TOUGHCOOL™ ice boxes that are exactly the same size those super expensive premium coolers. you can get them with or without cushions and the biggest benefit that they are great storage boxes as well.

Available in Charcoal color only for the time being.

We offer various sizes of on deck aluminum storage and tool boxes.

We offer our very popular Mini t-top which is ideal for a boat that is primarily piloted by one person. We also offer a Standard t-top, and a large top that covers half the boat and is the full width of the boat.

We have two designs- one is a small compact pilot house designed for a single pilot. The other is a larger structure designed for 2 persons with some amenities. Both are offered as an "open back" or fully enclosed. You can add options like seating, heating and specific electronics.
